Box Score 2 The Conquistador Volleyball team hit the road this weekend for a two game swing. The results were a split in the two matches as they won against Bethany College JV on Friday night, then they fell to Butler Community College on Saturday.
On Friday Dodge City got their first three set win of the year as they defeated Bethany 25-17, 25-19, and 25-17.
Kate Warren and
Madi Spencer led the offensive attack for the Conqs as they had 12 and 11 kills respectively against the Swedes. The Conqs also hit a season high .351 on the night in their offensive attack.
Erin Smith,
Brooke Dorenkamp, and
Blair Rockhold each had two digs a piece to lead the way for Dodge City defensively. Gabby Valdez led the way with 33 assists on the night and also had three service aces for the Conqs.
Saturday was a different story for Dodge City as they fell to Butler Community College in straight sets in El Dorado. They fell by scores of 25-14, 25-17, and 25-21. Warren once again led the offensive attack with 12 kills, however nobody else had more than four kills for the Conqs. Spencer and Valdez each had two digs for Dodge City, while Valdez had 19 assists on the day.
The weekend results leave them at 1-10 in conference play at 5-19 overall record. They will be back in action on Monday when they host Jayhawk West leading Seward County at 6:30pm at the Student Activity Center.
