Women's Soccer Shuts Out Pratt

Renica Beauplan tallied her third goal of the year
Box Score The Conquistador women's soccer team stayed on a roll on Saturday with a shutout victory over Pratt Community College to push their overall record over the .500 mark for the first time of the year. The Conqs used a first half goal to come away with a 1-0 victory over the Beavers.

In the first half the Conqs were very active on the offensive end, but the game was somewhat back and forth as Dodge City registered eight shots in the half and Pratt got off five shots of their own in the half. In the 37th minute of the game, Renica Beauplan got the Conqs on the board with her third goal of the year. Liliana Vasquez assisted Beauplan on the goal.

In the second half Dodge City got defensive as they once again had eight shots, but they did not allow the Beavers to get a shot off in the second half.

In all 12 of the Conqs 16 shots on the day were on goal and the Pratt keeper came up with 11 saves. Alexis McKinnon had another solid day in goal for Dodge making three saves on the day to give the Conqs their second shutout in three games.

The victory pushes Dodge City's overall record to 6-5-1 with a 5-3 mark in Jayhawk Conference play. The Conqs will be back in action on Wednesday when they host Cloud County Community College at 2:00pm at Memorial Field.
