Box Score PRATT, Kan. - A goal just four minutes into the game was one of 10 for the Dodge City Community College women's soccer team in a 10-0 road victory at Pratt Community College in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference opener for both squads on Monday, September 5th.
DC3 is now 1-1 on the season and 1-0 in the KJCCC after dropping their season opener last week.
The first half was filled with goals as
Begona Rodriguez-Bravo assisted
Vanessa Lopez to make the score 1-0 in favor of the Conqs in the fourth minute.
Siobhan Longmore would net her first collegiate goal in the 16th minute before assisting Lopez on her second goal of the game to put Dodge City up 3-0 in the 20th minute.
Cynthia Rodela, who would make her 2016 debut earlier in the game, would add one more goal for the Conquistadors right before half after receiving a pass in the box and being thrown to the ground but not before blasting a shot past the goalie to make the score 4-0 at halftime.
An even quicker start was seen in the second half as
Dayana Cevertus scored a goal in the 47th minute followed by
Dominique Arzaga finding the back of the net on a breakaway to make the score 6-0 with 34 minutes yet to play. Rodela would add her second goal of the game on an assist from Longmore before the freshman would score a second goal of her own to put the Conqs up 8-0 over the Beavers. Rodriguez-Bravo scored on an assist from
Ariana Longmore in the 78th minute as Ariana would then close out the scoring with a goal off a rebound in the 87th minute.
The 2016 home opener for Dodge City will take place on Wednesday, September 7th as the Conqs will host Hutchinson in a key KJCCC West match at 6 p.m. from Memorial Stadium. Hutchinson and DC3 were picked 1-2 in the KJCCC West preseason poll as the Blue Dragons hold a 13-1 series advantage.
