Box Score DODGE CITY, Kan. - After going down by a score of 1-0 just 15 minutes into the game, the Dodge City Community College women's soccer team would take a 2-1 halftime lead but could not hold on a 3-2 home loss to Barton Community College at Memorial Stadium on Wednesday, Oct. 19.
DC3 is now 7-7-0 on the year and 3-5-0 in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference while Barton is 8-5-1 and 5-3-0 in conference play.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Emily Goldman would play magnificently in the first half, making save after save before eventually conceding an unassisted goal in at the 14:11 mark to put Barton up 1-0.
Rawaa Ismail would even the score in the 23rd minute after a great pass sent in by
Cynthia Rodela would find its way into the back of the net before Rodela along with
Sarah Barfield would assist on a goal just nine minutes later at the 31:25 mark as
Siobhan Longmore would make the score 2-1 in favor of Dodge City.
Trying to hold off the Cougars from finding an equalizer, Barton would eventually find one at the 79:05 mark and then score what would-be a game-winner just 1:28 later at the 80:33 mark with Maddison Schofield scoring both goals.
Barton held a 22-13 lead in shots and a 15-7 shots on goal advantage. Despite giving up three goals, Goldman would make 10 saves while playing all 90 minutes in net for the short-handed Conquistadors.
