Box Score DODGE CITY, Kansas:  Dodge City women's basketball and a big bout with Colby Community College tonight at home, closing out the day with a 78-74 loss in the Civic Center.

Dodge won the first half with a close 35-31 advantage heading into the second.  The Trojans then edged out the Conqs 38-34 in the second to even things up. 
 
Despite a strong effort, the bout ended with a 9-5 decision in the period, falling 78-74 to finish their second game this week.
 
DC3 shot 26-81 for a 32.1 output from the field, shot 30 percent from the arc after hitting 6-20 and posted a 66.7 percentage after downing 16-24 from the free throw line.
 
The Conqs hit 36 points from the paint, opposed to the 40 points the opposition knocked from the paint themselves.  Colby hit big off the bench as well with 21 points.  Dodge owned 13 off the bench and eight off turnovers in the effort.
 
Hannah Whitaker led the team with 11 boards while adding nine points and two blocks on the night. 
 
Azaria Nave buried eight from the field, three from long range and five from the stripe for a 24-point output to lead the Conqs.  She added five assists and six rebounds to close things out.
 
Also in double-figure on the offensive were Tara Whipple and Kandra Gasaway who added 13 and 12 points respectively.  Gasaway was also good for seven commanding blocks and seven boards while Whipple added three assists and one steal.
 
The loss drops the Conqs to 0-2 in KJCCC play and a 9-7 overall output on the 2014-15 season.
 
The women will continue their week at home this Saturday, January 10 at 5:30 p.m. in Dodge City, Kansas when they take on Pratt Community College to close out the week.
