Box Score DODGE CITY, Kansas:  The heat on the pitch slowed down the women's soccer Conquistadors in their matchup with KJCCC opponent's Butler Community College this afternoon.  The Grizzlies downed the Conqs in a 3-0 shutout on the day.

There was a scoreless first half, but the second half proved too much for Dodge as Butler managed two goals early in the second half, and another with a little of 10 minutes left to edge out the Conqs 3-0.

"We played a very disciplined first half that had us playing with conviction against a very, very strong opponent," commented Conq head coach Tim Romanello.  "We were very undisciplined defending in the second half."

"When you go diving in on tackles in the back, fail to track run through the center of the field, good teams will make you.

Throughout regulation, Areli Torres, Kayla Turner and Kristina Trinceri all had a look at a goal, but Butler goalie stopped the Conq attack with three saves on the day.

DC3 goalie Elyssia Lucio posted one save against the opposition.  The Conqs amassed six shots while Butler challenged with ten.

"Butler took full advantage of us in the second half today," finished Romanello.

The loss puts DC3 women's soccer at 5-2-1 overall and 1-2-1 in conference play.

Dodge City will hit the road next Saturday, September 27 at 1 p.m., taking on Johnson County for another Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference match.

NOTE:  DC3 women's soccer advanced to a five win record after a decision that Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa forfeit all their previous matches.  The Conqs fell 2-1 to NOC in their first match of the 2014-15 regular season.
