Box Score LIBERAL, Kansas: DC3 women's volleyball fell in straight sets for the fourth straight game. Seward County took the Conquistador squad 25-12, 25-22 and 25-23 on the night.
The first set was a Seward County blowout as they garnered a 13-point spread against the visiting Dodge City team.
The second set was a bit closer as the Conqs battled back, narrowly missing their opportunity to grab the lead. The Saints came away with a 25-22 win.
Despite the 25-23 decision on the third set, the Conqs fought to stay in the game, once again narrowly missing the opportunity to keep the match going.
On the day,
Emily Slattery led the team with six kills on the day in 17 attempts. She was also good for two digs and 11 good serve attempts.
Darrie Rogers and
Brandi Fairbank owned three kills apiece with Rogers posting four digs, 19 serve receives and two block assists and Fairbank garnering three block assists as well.
Cynthia Cisneros and
Daisy Cheek led the team with 16 and 12 digs respectively while Cheek and
Alexis Sanchez earned seven and six assists respectively.
The Conqs will continue life on the road, playing this Friday, September 12 at Hesston College at 6:30 p.m. As the Larks defeated the Conqs last Friday in straight sets, Dodge is looking to hit the court hard and earn the victory.
