Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 LIBERAL, Kansas:  DC3 women's basketball went 2-0 this weekend in Seward County's Pizza Hut Classic hosted in Liberal, Kansas.  The Conqs started the weekend off with a commanding 92-79 victory over Northwest Kansas Technical College before putting down Fort Carson 77-69 to close out the weekend.

Against NWKTC, the Conqs posted a big 59.6 field goal percentage, 57.1 percent from long range and 68.8 from the charity stripe.  The team hit 31-52 from field goal range, 8-14 from the arc and 22-32 from the free throw line throughout the effort.

Kandra Gasaway led the team with 21 total points after shooting 7-10 from both the field and charity stripe.  She tied for the team-high with three blocks, alongside Alejandra Esparza, and posted five rebounds on the night.

With 19 points apiece were Talisha Presley and Azaria Nave.  Presley owned a 6-8 performance from the field, 3-4 from long range and shot a perfect 4-4 from the charity stripe while posting one assist, two steals and three boards for the Conqs.  Nave was good for a 5-8 performance from field goal range, 2-4 from the arc and went 7-10 from the free throw line while owning three boards, leading the team with four assists along with Tara Whipple and collecting three steals on the night.

Hannah Whitaker led the team with 10 rebounds and four steals while tallying one block in the Conq effort.
During Saturday's 77-69 victory over Fort Carson, the Conqs shot 45 percent from the field, 66.7 percent from long range and was good for 48.1 percent from the charity stripe.  In the game, they hit 27-60 field goals, 10-15 three-pointers and 13-27 from the free throw line.

Presley led the team with 21 points while shooting 6-19 from the field, 4-6 from the arc and 5-6 from the free throw line.  She also collected two steals, one block and three assists for DC3. 

Antania Newton owned 19 points for the Conqs after hitting 6-8 from the field, 4-5 from three-point range and 3-7 from the charity stripe.  She posted one steal and three assists to help the Conq effort. 

Whitaker led the team again on the defensive with 10 rebounds.  She posted two steals, one block, one assists and five points on the night.  Gasaway led the team with three blocks while posting four boards and five points for DC3.  Leading the team with five assists and three steals was Nave while Tara Whipple owned four assists and five boards and Alejandra Esparza owned seven rebounds.

On the season thus far, the Conqs have gone 8-5 overall and have collected some serious statistical rankings at this point in the season.

DC3 ranks 1^st in the nation with 37.7 defensive rebounds per game, 2^nd with 8.3 blocks per game, 5^th after allowing opponents a lowly 30.1 field goal percentage, 8^th with 51.4 total rebounds, 11^th with 38.9 three-point percentage, 12^th with 1033 total points scored, 15^th with 7.5 three-point field goals made per game and 20^th with 17.8 assists per game to name just the top 20.

The team will continue the 2014-15 campaign at home in the Civic Center this Wednesday, December 10 at 6 p.m. when they take on Northwest Kansas Technical College for the third time this season.
