Box Score GOODLAND, Kansas: DC3 women's basketball has now won two in a row, breaking their three game losing streak to get back to winning ways with a 77-55 on the road win over Northwest Kansas Tech.
They owned both halves, outscoring the opposition 45-24 in the first half and 32-31 in the second for the victory.
Azaria Nave,
Antania Newton and
Keiwanna Patterson led the team with 18, 15 and 12 points respectively. Nave shot 6-10 from the field, 4-5 from long range and hit a perfect 2-2 from the charity stripe while owning seven assists, two steals and four defensive rebounds.
Newton was good for four from the field and a 4-6 performance from three-point range while also hitting 3-4 from the free throw line. She owned one assists, steal and rebound on the night for the Conqs.
Patterson posted 4-8 from field goal range, 2-3 from long distance and 2-3 from the stripe for her 12 points. She also tied for the team-high with four steals, one block and three assists and rebounds.
Hannah Whitaker and
Tara Whipple led the team with eight and six rebounds respectively. Whitaker, and
Rachala Ross all also owned four steals on the night, while Whitaker posted eight points for DC3.
As a team, the Conqs worked for 40.0 percent on field goal attempts, 52.6 from long range and 64.7 percent from the charity stripe, outshooting the opposition who only managed 25.8 from the field and 31.8 from long range.
After the game, the Conqs rank 2
nd in the nation with 8.3 blocks per game, 7
th with 38.3 defensive rebounds per game, 10
th after allowing opponents a lowly 28.4 field goal percentage and 20
th with 7.7 three-pointers made per contest.
DC3 will continue the week at home in the Civic Center in Dodge City, Kansas this Saturday, November 15 at 2 p.m. when they take on Lamar Community College for a rematch.
