After earning KJCCC Defensive Player of the Week, Jahtavious Gaines picked up NJCAA Defensive Player of the Week after helping Dodge City football earn a 26-21 win at home over #12 Garden City. 
 
Gaines put the Conqs up 16-0 in the second quarter after intercepting a pass and returning it 55 yards for a touchdown. The redshirt sophomore added four tackles on the night in the win. The Conqs defense held Garden City to 247 total yards and forced three turnovers. 
 
Conqs are back on the road this week as they take on #1 Iowa Western in Council Bluffs, Iowa with a 1:00 pm kickoff on Saturday, September 12^th.
