After a successful first weekend of tournament play to open the 2026 season, the Dodge City volleyball team stepped on the court at home for the first time this season and opened Jayhawk Conference play, earning a three-set sweep of Pratt.
The Conquistadors picked up the 3-0 win over the Beavers of Pratt, winning 25-15, 25-13, 25-11, improving to 4-1 on the season and 1-0 in KJCCC play. The victory gives the Conqs nine straight wins against Pratt in the series.
The night opened with Pratt scoring the first three points on the evening, but the Conqs pushed back and tied the first set at 6-6 and then grabbed the lead, ultimately controlling the rest of the set to claim it 25-15, with a late set ace by
Rian Muntaner helping finish the set. The Conqs opened the second set with a 3-0 run, but Pratt kept close until the Conqs went on a run behind the performance of
Dora Csanyi, leading to a 25-13 second set. Conqs jumped ahead early in the third set, working to an 18-8 lead and cruising to the sweep with a 25-11 third set.
A career night by
Dora Csanyi paced the Conqs on the evening as she tallied 11 kills on a .556 hitting percentage, adding two digs, three solo blocks, and one block assist.
Anete Celnova added nine kills in the win along with nine digs.
Isabel Lopez Usma tallied 20 assists in the win as several Conqs contributed to the victory.
Next, the Conqs host the annual Victory Electric Classic, which will feature games Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, August 27
th-29
th. The Conqs will play on Friday, August 28
th at 2:30 and 7:30 pm against Eastern Wyoming and Iowa Western, then on Saturday, August 29
th at 7:00 pm versus Trinidad State.
