Volleyball Closes Out Regular Season With Three Set Sweep of Seward County

November 02, 2025

Box Score Four straight wins and five wins over the last six matches by Dodge City volleyball as they capped the regular season in strong fashion, beating Seward County in straight sets 25-22, 25-16, 25-20.

The win moved the Conquistadors to 15-13 on the season, and  finished 9-7 in KJCCC action, placing fourth in the conference. The fourth-place finish in the conference earns the Conqs a home first-round playoff game to open the postseason. The victory is also the sixth straight in the series against Seward County.

The early portion of the first set would be back-and-forth with several ties all the way to 14-14 when Seward County would score three-straight to lead 17-13, leading to a Dodge City timeout. The Conqs would draw even again with the Saints of Seward County at 19-19 and then grab the lead on a Rayssa Da Silva ace and would hold off Seward County to take the first set 25-22. The second set would start like the first, with it being tied early and often, but the Conqs grabbed the lead and would grow it to 11-8 and then 18-11 with Seward County calling timeouts at each of those points in the set. Conqs continued strong play down the stretch of the second set as they took it 25-16. Again, tight early with multiple ties, the third set would see it tied at 13-13, but the Conqs would push ahead again late to secure the match with a 25-20 third set.

Conqs had 35 kills in the match, with five different players recording five or more, led by Sunni Skipps, who had eight kills along with four aces and six digs. Chaehee Baek hit .500 with seven kills while adding five digs and two block assists. Amariah White had eight block assists, a solo block, and five kills, while Kamalei Wassman recorded 11 digs. Da Silva finished with seven kills, one ace, and two block assists.

Up next, the Conqs turn their attention to the NJCAA Plains District playoffs as they will host rival Garden City on Wednesday, November 5th at 6:30pm for first-round action.
