Working its way through the second rotation of Jayhawk conference play, the Dodge City men's soccer team traveled just west to take on rival Garden City, looking for another strong performance.
The Conquistadors would fall on the road 2-1 to the Broncbusters, moving the Conqs to 7-2-3 on the season and 3-2-1 in KJCCC action.
It was a tight and back-and-forth start through the first 10 minutes of action, and in the 12th minute, Garden City was on the attack and drew a foul in the box, earning a penalty kick. The Broncbusters would score the penalty kick and grab a 1-0 lead, which they would hold until just before halftime, when the Conqs tied the match in the 40th minute.

Soma Kanazawa, and the Conqs would draw even, leading to a 1-1 tie at intermission. The second half would see limited shots on both sides, but in the 74th minute, Garden City found their way back in front, and the Conqs would be unable to finish another chance, falling 2-1.
In the loss, the Conqs were outshot 12-6. The goal by Kanazawa was his sixth on the season to tie him for the team lead.
Geovanni De Luna recorded seven saves in the loss.
Conqs step back out of conference play on Sunday, October 12th, and will take on #9 Indian Hills in Hays, Kansas, at Fort Hays State University with an 11:00 am kick.
