Box Score For the second time this season, the Dodge City men's soccer team has recorded a victory over a Top 10-ranked team as they took down #9 Indian Hills in Hays, Kansas, at Fort Hays State University, winning 2-1.
The Conquistadors, with the win, improved to 8-2-3 on the season as they picked up their third win over a Top 10-ranked team under Head Coach
Juan Espinal, as the Conqs beat a program that Coach Espinal was previously the head coach for.
Despite playing against the wind in the first half, the Conqs generated a few shot opportunities and would net their two goals in the first half, getting on the board in the 25th minute as
Davide Dalla Francesca scored his seventh goal of the season off a
Soma Kanazawa pass. Conqs then in the final portion of the first half would see
Francesco Valenti give the Conqs a 2-1 lead entering halftime as he scored his sixth goal of the year coming off a
David Garcia pass. The Conqs would play with the wind in the second half but were unable to add to their lead, but held Indian Hills off the board to earn the 2-1 victory.
Rensho Ishikawa started in goal for the Conqs and recorded a pair of saves in the win.
Conqs tough stretch continues on Wednesday, October 15th, as they will take on #8 Barton in Hays, Kansas at Fort Hays State University.
