Volleyball Cruises Past Seward County in Three Sets

Box Score Back home and back in the win column for Dodge City volleyball as they had their most dominating performance of the season in a straight-set sweep of Seward County. 
 
The Conquistadors picked up the win 25-11, 25-15, 25-6 in straight sets over the Saints of Seward County to improve to 14-10 on the season and 5-2 in KJCCC action. It also marks the third straight win over Seward County. 
 
It was a blistering hot start to the night for the Conqs as they rattled off six-straight points to open the match up 6-0. The lead would only continue to grow working to double digits at 12-2 in the first set and then 20-9 on the way to the Conqs securing the 25-11 first set win. Seward County would open the second set 3-0 and hold a 6-5 early advantage but the Conqs pushed back going on an 8-0 run to take control at 20-13 forcing a Saints timeout. The Conqs would put the final touches on the set to take it 25-15. The third set saw the Conqs open it 6-0 and work to a 16-1 lead with a 10-0 run, cruising to the third set win 25-6 (six points is the lowest output this season by a Conqs opponent in a set). 
 
The Conqs would hit .470 in the matchup with four ladies hitting over .600 for the match. Azra Arslanoglu tallied 10 kills to pace the Conqs as she hit .667 for the game adding two aces and three digs, while Amariah White added nine kills and three block assists. Sila Yildiz finished with nine kills on a .615 hitting percentage, as Tess De Zanet, Beatriz Lampugnani Cornachini, and Agnes Hegardt all recorded five kills each. Leisey Keli'i tallied 13 digs, two aces, and two assists in the victory, while Hayden Pinard recorded 27 assists and Kamalei Wassman finished with 14 assists. 
 
Conqs welcome Butler to town on Monday, September 30th at 6:30 pm as conference play rolls along.
