Dodge City women's soccer wrapped up the first round of KJCCC play as they hosted Coffeyville and despite an early goal would settle for a 1-1 tie against the Red Ravens. 

The tie for the Conquistadors moves them to 3-4-2 on the season and 3-3-2 in KJCCC action but snaps a two-match win streak in the series against Coffeyville. 

It didn't take long for the Conqs to manufacture some early opportunities as shots came early. Martina Bonilla worked around a challenge by the Red Raven goalkeeper just over two minutes into the match and gave the Conqs a 1-0 lead. The first half would see the Conqs continue to fire off shots and control possession but would head into halftime just leading 1-0. The 1-0 lead looked to hold up for the Conqs until the 61st minute when a miscue by the Conqs saw Coffeyville capitalize and steal a goal to even the ballgame at 1-1. While the shot opportunities would continue in the second half for the Conqs, Coffeyville would buckle down defensively and stymie the Conqs just enough to end the match at a 1-1 tie. 

The Conqs in the matchup would outshoot Coffeyville 26-8 but in shots on goal, it was just 8-6 in favor of the Conqs. 

Conference play rolls on for the Conqs on the road on Saturday, September 28th as they will travel to Great Bend to take on Barton and then take on KCK in Wichita on Wednesday, October 2nd.
