After a week off the Dodge City women's soccer team looked to continue their recent success and momentum as they played host to #6 Butler and while the Conquistadors would push the Grizzlies it was Butler grabbing the 2-0 win. 
 
The loss moves the Conqs to 3-4-1 on the season and 3-3-1 in KJCCC action. 
 
The first half would see Butler control the time of possession but despite being outshot 10-3 in the first half the Conqs would keep the Grizzlies off the scoreboard. Ana Ramirez-Cortes would tally six saves in the first half and the Conqs entered intermission scoreless with Butler with a couple of late first-half shot opportunities for the Conqs. Early in the second half Butler would get the first corner of the game and would push in the first goal on the corner kick to take the 1-0 lead. It would remain 1-0 until Butler put a cross in the box that was redirected on a header for the second goal by the Grizzlies in the 72nd minute. The Conqs would continue to push to try and come back but would be unable to get on the board falling 2-0. 
 
In the loss, the Conqs were outshot 18-10 with the big difference happening in the first half. Ramirez-Cortes finished with nine saves in the loss. 
 
The Conqs are back home on Wednesday, September 25th when they host Coffeyville for a 6:00 pm contest as the matchup will mark the end of the first go around in KJCCC play.
