Dodge City volleyball competed in their final non-conference action of the season as they traveled to Sterling, Colorado to compete at the Sheila Worley Invitational. 
The Conquistadors would go 2-2 in action beating Casper in straight sets (25-12, 25-20, 25-23) and Laramie County in four sets (25-18, 25-11, 23-25, 25-20). But fell in a tough five-set contest against #17 Western Nebraska (25-18, 25-19, 27-29, 14-25, 10-15) and then dropped a three-set affair against #11 Utah State Eastern (24-26, 24-26, 22-25). The 2-2 showing moves the Conqs to 11-8 on the season. 
Its conference play the rest of the season for the Conqs as they will back home on Wednesday, September 18th at 6:30 pm against Pratt and then will travel to #4 Barton on Saturday, September 21st. 
Vs. Casper – Won 3-0
Riding a strong wave of momentum and a win streak the Conqs opened the Sheila Worley Invitational in a strong way with a straight-set sweep of Casper. The Conqs would dominate the first set taking it 25-12 and then outdueled Casper in the next two sets in tighter contests winning the second and third sets 25-20 and 25-23. 
Sila Yildiz tallied eight kills, two digs, two assists, one ace, and three block assists in the win for the Conqs. 
Kamalei Wassman and 
Hayden Pinard each had 13 assists in the matchup adding five and seven digs, respectively. 
Agnes Hegardt and 
Azra Arslanoglu each tallied six kills, while 
Leisey Keli'i recorded 15 digs, three aces, and two assists. 
Vs. Laramie County – Won 3-1
Conqs continued their strong play to wrap up day one of the Sheila Worley Invitational as they picked up a win over Laramie County. The Conqs would control the first two sets winning them 25-18 and 25-11 but Laramie County would snag a tight third set 25-23 to force a fourth set and the Conqs responded by winning the fourth set 25-20 to earn the win. 
Four double-figure kill performances led the Conqs in the match with a double-double from Arslanoglu as she had 13 kills and 13 digs while adding three aces. Yildiz and 
Tess De Zanet each chipped in 12 kills, while 
Beatriz Lampugnani Cornachini recorded 10 kills, 15 digs, and four aces. Keli'i cleaned up with 23 digs at the libero spot, while Pinard recorded 37 assists and nine digs and Wassman added 19 assists and nine digs. 
Vs. #17 Western Nebraska – Lost 3-2
Day two saw a pair of Top 20 ranked foes looming for the Conqs and the day would open with another five-set contest for the sixth of the year for the Conqs as they took on #17 Western Nebraska. The Conqs came out strong working past Western Nebraska 25-18 and 25-19 in the first and second sets, but Western Nebraska edged the Conqs 29-27 in the third set and would go on to claim the fourth and fifth sets 25-14 and 15-10 to steal the match away from the Conqs. 
Pinard and Cornachini each tallied double-doubles in the loss as Hayden had 35 assists and 14 digs, while Beatriz had 10 kills and 10 digs. De Zanet tallied 16 kills of the Conqs 57 in the match, while Keli'i finished with 18 digs and 
Jordyn Boxberger had a strong showing with five kills and six digs. 
Vs. #11 Utah State Eastern – Lost 3-0
The final match of the Sheila Worley Invitational would see the Conqs compete against #11 Utah State Eastern and while they kept each set close the Conqs fell in three sets as Utah State Eastern edged the Conqs 26-24, 26-24, and 25-22 to take the match. 
Five different Conqs had six or more kills in the contest with eight for Hegardt, seven for Arslanoglu, and six for Boxberger, Amaraiah White, and De Zanet each. Boxberger added 10 digs in the match, while Pinard recorded 28 assists.
