Dodge City men's basketball capped non-conference play with back-to-back wins taking down State Fair 63-48 at the State Fair Classic in Sedalia, Missouri.
The Conquistadors with the win move to 2-4 on the season as they head into KJCCC action starting next week.
The Conqs would be tight early in the first half but would lock down defensively and find some shots to take control of the contest and lead 33-24 at halftime. The second half was much of the same as the Conqs would continually hold off State Fair who made a push to within four points. The Conqs would finish off the matchup and secure the 63-48 victory.
While the Conqs shot just 37.9% from the field the defense held State Fair to just 23.2% shooting and 1-20 from three-point range and won the rebounding battle 54-48.
Seven different Conqs had at least five points each in the matchup with a 15-point performance by
Jamari Gamble leading the way as he also grabbed nine rebounds.
Wesly Rosa chipped in nine points, six rebounds, and three blocks.
Fred Saunders added nine points and five rebounds, while
Jayse Boatwright tallied eight points and five rebounds.
Up next is a date with rival Garden City to open KJCCC play on Wednesday, November 20th on the road at 7:30 pm.
