Dodge City volleyball capped the regular season with a straight-set sweep of Seward County on the road winning 25-14, 25-23, 25-18 earning the Conquistadors a third-place finish in the KJCCC.
The Conqs with the win move to 20-13 on the season and finish 11-5 in KJCCC play. The third-place finish in the conference and 11 Jayhawk Conference wins is the highest finish in the conference and most conference wins since 2010.
The night saw the Conqs take early control cruising to the first set win 25-14 behind 16 kills in the set, hitting .414. The second set would be tight throughout as the Conqs pushed ahead late and held off Seward County to grab the set 25-23. In the third set, the Conqs jumped up early again and would use that early lead to finish the set 25-18 and take the match in three sets.
Azra Arslanoglu tallied a team-high 11 kills in the match adding eight digs, while
Beatriz Lampugnani Cornachini chipped in 10 kills on a .474 hitting percentage.
Leisey Keli'i recorded 17 digs while adding three assists and four aces.
Hayden Pinard had 39 assists on the evening, while
Rayssa Da Silva added five kills, four aces, and three block assists.
The Conqs will now prepare for the postseason as they will host the first round of the NJCAA Plains District playoffs on Wednesday, November 6th at 6:00 pm against either Garden City or Hutchinson.
