Box Score Volleyball battled #8 Barton in a KJCCC contest featuring two of the top teams in the Jayhawk Conference. While the Conquistadors challenged the Cougars of Barton, it was Barton that won the match in four sets. 
 
Barton would take the contest 25-15, 25-19, 20-25, 25-21, and the Conqs, with the loss, fall to 19-12 on the season and 10-4 in KJCCC action. 
 
The night would open with the teams' trading points over the first eight tallies in the first set but Barton would put together a 8-2 run to lead 12-6 and use that separation to hold off the Conqs in the first set. The Conqs would drop the first set 25-15 and in set two it was another small run by Barton at 6-1 to lead 15-10 for the Cougars that would keep the Conqs at arm's length as Barton won the set 25-19. After falling behind in the third set the Conqs pushed back and a Leisey Keli'i ace would tie the set at 17-17. The Conqs would outscore Barton 8-3 over the rest of the third set winning it 25-20. In the fourth set, Barton jumped out to a 6-1 lead, but the Conqs answered back and would lead 14-13 only to see Barton again put together a small run that gave them the lead which they would not give up. The Conqs would fend off match point three times late but fall 25-21 in the fourth set to drop the match. 
 
In the loss, the Conqs saw Keli'i record 21 digs with three assists, one kill, and an ace. Amariah White tallied nine kills on a .364 hitting percentage while Azra Arslanoglu finished with eight kills and both Agnes Hegardt and Beatriz Lampugnani Cornachini had six kills each. Hayden Pinard recorded a double-double with 35 assists and 16 digs. 
 
The Conqs are back in action at home against #7 Colby on Saturday, October 26th, at 6:30 p.m., and they will recognize the sophomores for Sophomore Day.
