Dodge City women's soccer had their ninth match this season against a ranked opponent as they continued KJCCC action taking on #11 Butler on the road in El Dorado. The Conquistadors would push back in the second half but ultimately suffer a 4-1 loss.
The loss drops the Conqs to 4-9-3 on the season and 4-8-3 in KJCCC with just one regular season game left as the Conqs will take on Coffeyville on Saturday, October 26th at 4:00 pm.
The Conqs would find themselves down early as Butler broke through with a goal in the first four minutes of the contest and added another just a little over seven minutes later. The Conqs would head into halftime trailing 2-0 being outshot 12-3 in the first half. The second half would be closer to even in shots, but the Conqs would be unable to stay with the Grizzlies of Butler. In the 55th minute, the Conqs got on the board with a
Naomy Parra goal on a pass from
Mariam El Mir cutting the deficit to one goal at 2-1. Butler countered with two more goals coming in the 72nd and 83rd minutes as the Conqs fell 4-1.
In the loss, the Conqs were outshot 17-7 as Parra netted the Conqs lone goal of the contest.
Ana Ramirez-Cortes recorded nine saves in goal.
The Conqs will wrap up the regular season on Saturday, October 26th against Coffeyville.
