Men's Soccer Falls to Garden City

Dodge City men's soccer continued Jayhawk Conference play hosting rival Garden City and would be unable to stay with the Broncbusters in the second half playing a man down leading to a 4-2 loss. 

The loss drops the Conquistadors to 4-9-1 on the season and 3-6-1 in conference play. 

The Conqs flew out of the gates making a run early in the first minute of the contest and Theo Hoang would grab possession back from Garden City in the attacking third. Hoang would put a cross into the box and Hamza Bennadi pushed it into the goal just 1:02 into the game giving the Conqs the early lead. As the first half progressed Garden City managed to pick up their opportunities on goal and would even the game in the 38th minute. In the final minute of the first half, the Conqs would see things swing the way of Garden City more with a red card putting the Conqs down a man for the remainder of the match. 

In the second half, Garden City would take advantage of the Conqs being a man down as the Broncbusters took the lead at 2-1 in the 59th minute and then scored again in the 82nd minute to lead 3-1. The Conqs would continue to fight to the end as Hoang looked towards the goal again in the final minutes and Felipe Samary would redirect it for a goal in the 88th minute. Garden City pushed right back tallying the final goal in the contest in the final minute of the match. 

Conqs in the loss were outshot 25-14 with Bennadi and Samary each netting a goal and Hoang finishing with two assists. Geovanni De Luna recorded 10 saves on the 14 shots on goal he faced in the showdown. 

The final home game of the season is set for Wednesday, October 16th against Seward County at 6:00 pm, and then the Conqs will wrap up the regular season on the road with three more games.
