For the third straight match and the eighth time this season the Dodge City women's soccer team faced off with a ranked opponent this time taking on #11 Cowley on the road suffering a 4-0 defeat.
The Conquistadors with the loss drop to 3-8-2 on the season and 3-7-3 in conference play with four matches remaining in the regular season.
The Conqs would keep things tight throughout the first 20 minutes as both teams were held off the scoreboard, but the Tigers broke through in the 20th minute to take the lead. Six minutes later Cowley added another goal and would carry that 2-0 lead into halftime. In the second half, the Conqs continue to struggle to find opportunities for a goal and would concede two more goals in the 61st and 88th minutes to fall 4-0 on the road against Cowley.
In the loss, the Conqs were outshot 21-5 in the matchup with only three shots on goal coming from Meike Patzold,
Alda Gomes, and
Mariam El Mir.
Ana Ramirez-Cortes faced 11 shots on goal and recorded seven saves.
Up next the Conqs return home to take on rival Garden City on Sunday, October 16th with a noon start time.
