Dodge City men's soccer hit the road against #8 Cowley to continue the season and challenged the Tigers in a tight battle that saw the Conquistador's chances fall short in a tough 1-0 loss.
The Conqs sit at 4-8-1 on the season and 3-5-1 in the KJCCC with five games remaining this season.
While Cowley would record a multitude of shots the Conqs would stymie them enough to limit their quality chances. In the first half, it remained scoreless until the 40th minute when the Tigers struck for what would be the lone goal in the contest. Trailing 1-0 at intermission the Conqs would find a few chances in the second half while the Cowley did also but neither team would score in the second half. Conqs would go on to fall 1-0 in the contest.
The Conqs had nine shots with five shots on goal with
Jose Rojas getting a pair of shots on goal,
Soma Kanazawa,
Cristobal Juan Berrios, and
Theo Hoang each also had a shot on goal.
Geovanni De Luna faced nine shots on goal and recorded eight saves.
Up next the Conqs will host rival Garden City on Sunday, October 13th at 2:00 pm for another conference tilt.
