                    Box Score For the seventh time this season, the Dodge City volleyball team played a match to five sets but it was the first time in conference play this season going five as the Conquistadors came back to beat Butler. 
 
The Conquistadors dropped the first two sets in tight battles but then would reserve sweep the Grizzlies of Butler winning 26-28, 28-30, 25-19, 25-21, 15-11. The win moves the Conqs to 15-10 on the season and 6-2 in KJCCC action, while also moving to 7-1 at home this season. 
 
The night would start with Butler grabbing the early advantage in the first set going up 2-0 and then 7-4 but the Conqs tied the set at 12-12. It would be back-and-forth the rest of the way in the first set as the Conqs worked set point four times but were unable to snare the set as Butler grabbed it 28-26. The second set would see the Conqs race out to a 9-2 lead but then it would be tied up at 19-19 and go into extra points again as the Conqs would have set point multiple times again but Butler would snatch the set 30-28 to lead the match 2-0. 
 
Backs against the wall the Conqs responded in the third set as the Conqs went up 12-8 with a pair of 
Leisey Keli'i aces during a 5-0 run and would use that margin to push themselves to the 25-19 third set win. In the fourth set, it was tight again until the Conqs got some separation at 15-12 and held off Butler to win the fourth set 25-21. In the fifth set, the Conqs fell behind 5-3 early but answered with a 7-0 run to lead 10-5 and went on to secure the match winning the fifth set 15-11. 
 
Four Conqs tallied double-figure kills in the victory as 
Azra Arslanoglu posted 17 kills and had 10 digs for a double-double. 
Beatriz Lampugnani Cornachini tallied 15 kills, nine digs, four block assists, a solo block, and three aces. 
Amariah White was strong in the middle with 14 kills and had nine block assists. 
Sila Yildiz finished with 10 kills and six block assists, while at libero Keli'I posted 19 digs and chipped in a pair of aces. 
Hayden Pinard had a strong night with 51 assists, six digs, and four block assists. 
 
Conqs start the second round of conference play with their next matchup as they travel to Garden City to take on rival Broncbusters on Saturday, October 5th at 6:30 pm.
