Early, often, and throughout the contest three-point buckets fell for the Dodge City women's basketball team as they took down Coffeyville 106-75.
The Conquistadors with the win moved to 14-2 on the season and 8-2 in KJCCC play. Conqs have now won three of the last four meetings in the series.
Early on both teams would trade buckets and have a close contest until the Conqs would end the first quarter outscoring the Red Ravens 12-5 to lead 30-17. The hot shooting would continue for both teams in the second quarter, but the Conqs would drain three-pointer after three-pointer making 13 in the first half to lead 57-37 at intermission. The second half saw the ball continue to drop in the bucket for the Conqs as the barrage of three-pointers continued with the Conqs extending their lead behind a 29-14 third quarter and went on to secure the 106-75 victory.
The Conqs had their best shooting night of the season making 58.7% of their shots on the night and going 23-35 from three-point range (65.7%), while also recording a season-best 30 assists on 37 made field goals. Coffeyville would shoot well hitting 40.3% of their shots including 11 three-pointers.
Six double-figure scorers led the Conqs on the night with a career-high 25 points on 9-15 shooting including 6-8 from three-point range along with seven rebounds and four assists.
Paris Santacaterina added a double-double with 20 points on 6-10 shooting along with 11 assists and seven rebounds.
Layla-J Cameron chipped in 18 points on 6-9 shooting (6-8 three-pointers), while
Mia Jordan finished with 13 points on 6-11 shooting with four rebounds and three assists.
Tayah Morgan added 13 points off the bench going 4-5 from three-point range, while
Shorna Preston tallied 10 points, five assists, five rebounds, and three blocks.
