The Dodge City women's soccer team kicked the season into motion on the road with a 4-1 victory over Lamar in the season opener. 

Battling through some adverse field conditions the Conquistadors would settle in to take control of the contest against the Lopes of Lamar and claim the 4-1 victory behind a hat trick for Mariam El Mir Tartouri. 

Taking control of possession early helped push the Conqs in front early in the season opener as they got on the board in the first six minutes of the contest behind a Yui Fujii goal with Martina Bonilla Moreno and Giselle Heck each tallying an assist. The 1-0 lead would only hold up for about six minutes before Lamar made one of their few pushes toward the goal and caught the Conqs with a little miscommunication on the backend leading to the Lopes evening the contest at 1-1. 

But there was the answer in the 33rd minute as El Mir Tartouri tallied the first of what would be three goals on the day for her and then she added her second just one minute before halftime as Bonilla Moreno picked up her second assist. The Conqs lead 3-1 going into intermission and ultimately added a fourth goal in the 64th minute guiding them to the 4-1 road win over Lamar. 

The Conqs would outshot Lamar 18-5 in the contest and 11-1 in shots on goal. El Mir Tartouri led the Conqs with three goals while Fujii tallied her first of the season, also and Bonilla Moreno added a pair of assists. Lucia Martinez Garcia recorded a pair of saves playing all 90 minutes for the Conqs in goal. 

Up next the Conqs gear up for conference play as they will host #14 Barton in the KJCCC opener on Wednesday, August 23rd at 6:00 pm.
