Dodge City softball hit the road for the first time in KJCCC play this season taking on #18 Hutchinson and while the Conquistadors battled it was the Blue Dragons taking the doubleheader 4-0 and 9-1.

The Conqs fall to 10-8 on the season with the two losses and move to 5-3 in KJCCC action.

Game 1 – Lost 4-0 at HutchinsonÂ
The Conqs held the Blue Dragons offense down early to open the day as it was a scoreless contest through the first two innings. In the bottom of the third Hutchinson got the first run of the afternoon as the game would remain that way until the bottom of the fifth when the Blue Dragons tallied another run to make it 2-0. In the bottom of the sixth, a two-run home run by Hutchinson doubled the score and the Conqs were down to their final three outs in the top of the seventh and ultimately were unable to get on the board falling 4-0.Â

Addison Spencer and K'lee Flores both went 1-3 for the Conqs' lone two hits of the contest while
Madison Kacer and
Izabella Mikelson each recorded a walk. Flores was strong inside the circle tossing all six innings giving up four runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out six.Â

Game 2 – Lost 9-1 at Hutchinson (5 innings)Â
Conqs jumped on the board early in game one as Castro drew a walk to lead off the game and that was followed by an
Alicyn O'Neill sacrifice bunt and a sac-fly by
Addison Spencer brought her in to give the Conqs a 1-0 lead. Hutchinson responded in the bottom of the first inning getting five runs highlighted by a three-run home run. The Conqs' scoring opportunities would be minimal the rest of the way as Hutchinson tacked on a pair of runs in the bottom of the third and fourth innings leading to the 9-1 final in five innings.Â

Castro was 1-2 with a run scored and a walk, while
Addison Spencer had an RBI. In the circle,
Dalaney Utajara tossed all four innings of the action.
