On the road again as Dodge City men's basketball headed to Colorado for a pair of games against strong competition and would open the Trinidad Classic with their first win of the season beating Otero 77-68. 

The Conquistadors moved to 1-3 on the season with the win over Otero as the Conqs out dueled the Rattlers. 

Back-and-forth the first half would go as the Conqs would hold the advantage most of the time, but Otero hung close until the Conqs grew the lead to seven at 30-23 with 6:23 remaining in the half. The lead would remain the Conqs and make its way to 10 at 42-32 with free throws with 41 seconds remaining in the first half and at halftime, the Conqs led 42-34. The Conqs would make the halftime lead hold up but Otero pushed back in the second half tying the contest multiple times in the second half but would only have the lead over the Conqs briefly a few times as the Conqs secured the 77-68 win. 

Offensively the Conqs shot 41.1% and went 27-35 from the free throw line, while holding Otero to 37.1% shooting and out rebounding the Rattlers 44-27. 

Hunter Duncan paced the Conqs with 20 points on 4-8 shooting and 10-14 from the charity stripe while adding seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Jamari Gamble added 11 points and nine rebounds performance, while Jackson Swartz chipped in nine points and five rebounds while going 3-3 from the field. Both Gavin Shannon and Avnoor Bhullar each tallied eight points in the win. 

The Conqs looked to finish the Trinidad Classic on Saturday, November 11th against the host Trinidad State.
