Dodge City women's soccer took on their fourth straight ranked KJCCC opponent as #16 Cowley came to town and the Tigers controlled the match leading to a 4-0 decision in favor of Cowley.
The Conquistadors with the loss fall to 3-7-3 on the season and 2-7-3 in KJCCC action with four games remaining this season.
Over the first 15 minutes the Conqs were able to keep Cowley off the board despite the Tigers firing off multiple shots and in the 15th minute Cowley took the lead. The Tigers tallied their first goal and less than a minute later made it a 2-0 contest. The Conqs continued to be on their heels in the first half and would see the Tigers pounce on another goal with 15 minutes left in the first half making it 3-0. A brief run with possession early in the second half had the Conqs looking to push to get on the board, but the opportunities were limited, and Cowley would settle in again to be the aggressor in the second half. Tigers managed another goal and would go on to win 4-0.
The Conqs in the loss were outshot 25-2 in the contest, while the Tigers scored four goals, Conqs goalkeeper, Lucia Martinez Garcia did record nine saves.
Four games remain for the Conqs as they will travel to Garden City on Wednesday, October 11th at 4:00 pm to continue the season.
