For the second straight match and fifth time this season the Dodge City women's soccer team settled for a tie as they were unable to find a goal against Seward County leading to a 0-0 tie on the road.
The tie moves the Conquistadors to 3-7-5 on the season and 2-7-5 in KJCCC action.
From the start the Conqs would control the possession and pace of play against the Saints and over the first 45 minutes of action the Conqs would outshoot Seward County 9-0 but were unable to find the back of the net. With just over 12 minutes left in the first half, the Conqs nearly scored as the ball was right on top of the goal line before being stopped leading to a 0-0 score at halftime. The second half was more of the same for the Conqs with shots coming from several different players, but the Saints packed in the defense to stymie the Conqs just enough leading to a 0-0 draw.
The Conqs in the contest outshot Seward County 24-3 with 11 shots on goal in the contest, while the Saints had just one shot on goal.
Two more conference matches loom for the Conqs to cap the regular season as they will travel to El Dorado on Saturday, October 21st to take on Butler at 2:00 pm before capping the regular season with a contest against Coffeyville on Monday, October 23rd at 6:00 pm.
