A season-best performance in many ways leads to the Dodge City women's basketball team picking up their tenth straight win and 13th straight win at home beating Cowley 108-74.
The Conquistadors with the win improved to 17-2 overall and 12-1 in KJCCC action.
Over the first five minutes of the contest, the Conqs established a 10-5 advantage over Cowley going into the media timeout. Out of the media timeout, the Conqs would go on a 12-0 run and ultimately outscore Cowley 16-3 over the final five minutes of the first quarter to lead 26-8 after the first 10 minutes of action. That lead grew by halftime for the Conqs as they were in cruise control up 56-30 at intermission. The big lead was enough for the Conqs to just continue to do work in the second half and take care of business against Cowley cruising to the 108-74 win.
The Conqs would post several season highs as a team in the victory as they posted a season-best 108 points on 44 made field goals the most in a single game this season and shot 60.3% from the floor the best shooting performance in a game this year. Conqs also finished 13-26 from three-point range and had 34 assists a season-best, along with a season-high seven blocks. Defensively the Conqs held Cowley to just 36.1% shooting and only 25% from three-point range, while outrebounding the Tigers 49-25.
