Dodge City men's soccer traveled to Arkansas City on Wednesday for a Top 15 clash of KJCCC teams and the #15 Conquistadors took on the #4 Cowley Tigers a bit undermanned falling in the contest 2-0.
The Conqs with the loss fall to 8-3 on the season and 3-2 in KJCCC action.
Just 1:31 into the contest Cowley was able to get on the board with the first goal of the game but the Conqs would hold things together to trail just 1-0 at halftime. While the Conqs made some pushes Cowley was able to breakthrough again and get their second goal of the match in the 69
th minute. It would remain 2-0 all the way to the final horn.
Conqs were outshot in the contest 17-9 and 8-5 in shots on goal in the matchup.
Juan Ballesta recorded five of the Conqs shots with two shots on goal, while
Eric Zalaya in goal recorded six saves in the loss.
Conqs are back in action at home against Neosho County on Saturday, October 1
st at 1:00 pm.
