Dodge City men's soccer matched last year's win total as they claimed another KJCCC win with a 5-1 victory over KCK Blue Devils on the road.
The win moves the Conquistadors to 8-2 on the season and 3-1 in KJCCC action. The win is also the first over the Blue Devils for the Conqs since 2014 snapping a three-match losing streak to KCK.
It would take nearly 30 minutes into the contest, but the Conqs would break through first as
Sano Alseny recorded the first goal of the contest as
Bastien Dechamps set him up. Two minutes later the Conqs were up 2-0 after
Juan Ballesta found the back of the net with
Janik Buch recording an assist. KCK managed a goal before halftime to make it 2-1 Conqs entering intermission.
The second half was much more of the Conqs controlling the opportunities which led to three more Dodge City goals as
Gaetan Francois, Ballesta, and
Niccolo Cantini each tallied a goal in the half.
Diego Marcelino Olivares and
Marlon Lopez recorded assists on the first two goals while Cantini's goal came on a penalty kick opportunity.
The Conqs outshot KCK in the win 16-5 and controlled the action.
