Women's Basketball Sweeps Season Series With Butler With Road Win

For the first time since 2004, the Dodge City women's basketball broke out the brooms and earned a season sweep of the Butler Grizzlies after picking up a 69-55 road victory. 
 
The win moved the Conquistadors to 14-9 on the season and 9-8 in KJCCC action, while always marking the first road win against Butler since 2004. 
 
Conqs worked to the early advantage on the road and continued to push ahead throughout the game fending off advances by the Grizzles. At the end of the first quarter, the Conqs held the 19-11 advantage and went into halftime up nine points at 36-27. Hot-shooting continued in the second half for the Conqs as they hit double-figure three-pointers for the fifth time this season draining 11 in the game and went on to grab the 69-55 road win over Butler. 
 
Offensively the Conqs were efficient shooting 47.9% from the floor and 44% from three-point range, while having 18 assists on 23 made field goals. Conqs held the Grizzlies to just 30.9% shooting. 
 
Krystina Hagood matched her career-high scoring 24 points while hitting a career-high seven three-pointers (7-10) and went 3-4 from the free-throw line. Bree Stephens tallied 15 points on 6-8 shooting while adding six rebounds and five assists. Jenna Rose Mafua finished with 11 points, while Jada Burton added six points and career-high nine assists. 
 
Up next the Conqs are at home for a double-dip next week hosting Hutchinson on Wednesday, February 9th, and then hosting Cloud County on Saturday, February 12th.
