Dodge City women's basketball made it a 2-0 trip to Texas as they dispatched Midland on Saturday in their final game at the Midland College Classic winning 69-51.
The win moves the Conqs to 4-1 on the season with four of the five games being on the road or neutral site contests thus far this season.
The Conqs gained control in the latter portion of the first quarter growing their lead to ultimately nine points and leading 18-11 after the first 10 minutes. The lead would continue to grow in the second quarter as the Conqs went on an 8-0 run to go up 31-13 and would post a 19-7 second quarter to lead 37-18 at halftime. The Conqs would spread out the playing time in the second half and use their first-half lead to take down Midland on the road gaining the 69-51 victory.
Conqs would shoot 40.3% from the floor and drain nine three-pointers while holding Midland to just 25.4% from the floor and forcing 21 Midland turnovers.
A trio of gals in double-figures paced the Conqs as
Paris Santacaterina posted 12 points, while
Aujanae Latimer added 10 points and seven rebounds and
Jada Burton chipped in 10 points.
Jenna Rose Mafua added nine points and
Leah Mafua tallied eight points and eight rebounds.
Conqs are back in action at home on Tuesday, November 15th at 7:00 pm as they host Bethany JV in a non-conference tilt.
