Dodge City men's soccer team faced off with another ranked opponent in KJCCC action to continue their season on Saturday when they took on Barton on the road.
The Conqs would fall 2-1 to Barton to move to 8-5 on the season and 3-4 in KJCCC action.
While both teams sprayed a few goals in the first half looking to take the early advantage neither would be able to net a goal by intermission as the contest went into halftime scoreless. It would take until the 53
rd minute for the first goal to be scored in the contest when Barton netted their first of two goals to take the lead. The Conqs would tie it up at 1-1 in the 71
st minute when Marllon Lopez scored his ninth goal of the season with
Janik Buch recording the assist. It would only be tied for the next seven minutes as Barton found their second goal and would make that stand up for the 2-1 win.
It was even in many ways between the teams as the Conqs had nine shots and Barton tallied 10 shots in the contest.
The Conqs will be back in action against Allen CC JV on Tuesday, October 11
th at 1:00 pm in Wichita.
