Dodge City volleyball team continued their stretch of road games to wrap up the regular season as they took on the Colby Trojans on Wednesday and earned a four-set win.
The Conquistadors picked up the 3-1 win over Colby (25-23, 25-12, 18-25, 25-19) to improve to 20-8 on the season and 9-6 in KJCCC action. The 20
th win marks the first 20-win season for the Conqs since 2016.
Conqs jumped on Colby early to open the night working to a 12-5 lead in the first set and would maintain the lead until late in the set when Colby pushed back to tie the contest at 22-22. The Conqs would stay composed and finish off the first set 25-23. The Conqs started the second set with a flurry and worked to a 14-6 lead and would cruise past the Trojans in the set 25-12 to go up 2-0 in the match. Colby didn't go away quietly as the Trojans earned the third set 25-18 but the Conqs responded to cash in on the match winning the fourth set 25-19.
Nur Yaren Turkmenoglu continued her strong season recording 37 assists, two aces, 17 digs, and a solo block.
Oliwia Durka tallied 13 kills, while
Ozge Tan had a double-double with 11 kills and 17 digs.
Jatnna Pena posted 27 digs while adding four assists and two aces, while
Alannah Lozoya had a strong serving night with five aces and added eight digs.
The Conqs will wrap up the regular season on Saturday, October 29
th in Great Bend at 6:30pm against Barton.
