Dodge City volleyball team picked up their 18th win of the season behind a 3-0 sweep of Cloud County in the regular season home finale on Saturday marking the most wins in a season since 2017.
The Conquistadors earned the 25-17, 25-23, 25-16 win over Cloud County to move to 18-7 on the season and 7-5 in KJCCC play with four games remaining in the regular season.
Conqs jumped up 2-0 to open the match and then took control going up 10-5 and would make that lead hold up to claim the first set 25-17. The second set was tight throughout and Cloud County even pushed ahead late at 22-21 but the Conqs responded out of a timeout went on a 3-0 run and then capped the set 25-23. Once the Conqs grabbed firm control of the third set around the 12-7 score the Conqs were able to cruise to the third set win 25-16 and win the match in three sets.
Miya Alavardo had a career-high 10 kills on the night hitting .625, while
Ozge Tan added 14 kills and seven digs.
J'Carra Mitchell tallied nine kills, four digs, a solo block, and two block assists, while
Jatnna Pena and
Alannah Lozoya both were strong defensively with 17 and 12 digs, each.
Nur Yaren Turkmenoglu tallied 38 assists and added three kills, nine digs, and a block assist.
The Conqs will hit the road to finish the regular season with the final four matches on the road starting with a trip to Pratt on Wednesday, October 19th at 6:30 pm.
