Dodge City volleyball team rolled past the Pratt Beavers in KJCCC play to open a busy week for the Conquistadors.
The Conqs broke out the brooms for the three-set sweep winning 25-16, 25-16, 25-11 over Pratt to improve to 17-6 overall and 6-4 in KJCCC action.
After trading points over the course of the first six points of the matchup the Conqs grabbed the lead and went up 7-4. That lead in the first set would continue to grow over the course of the set as the Conqs went up 13-7, then 18-12 and then 21-13, ultimately leading to a 25-16 first set win for the Conqs. Set two opened with a
J'Carra Mitchell kill but Pratt would manage to tie the set up at 7-7 but the Conqs went on a 5-0 run to lead 12-7 and the Conqs would maintain that advantage and grow it out late taking the second set 25-16. The third set opened for the Conqs 3-0 with two
Nur Yaren Turkmenoglu aces in the first three points of the set and then lead 8-1 leading to a Beavers timeout. The Conqs were in cruise control from that point on going on to win the third set 25-11.
On a night that everyone who suited up saw action the stats were spread out for the Conqs.
Ozge Tan recorded another double-double with 10 kills and 12 digs, while
Oliwia Durka chipped in nine kills and
J'Carra Mitchell finished with eight kills. Both
Martyna Kmuk and
Miya Alvarado tallied seven kills each. Turkmenoglu finished the night with 40 assists, four aces, six digs, and three kills.
Alannah Lozoya tallied 16 digs along with four aces, while
Jatnna Pena added 12 digs, two aces, and two kills.
Up next the Conqs hit the road for a battle of top KJCCC teams as they will take on #15 Seward County at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, October 12
th.
