(Liberal, KS) -- The Dodge City Community College Baseball team struggled with the bats throughout the series, and that was a key factor in them getting swept in two series' to Seward this week. 
 
On Thursday, despite good pitching, the Conqs fell 4-3 in game one, and 6-4 in game two. In game one the Conqs were shutout through four innings, before scoring all three runs in the fifth to take a 3-2 lead. Ryan Santos singled, Logan Murany hit a triple, and Conner Kessler singled to score the runs. Unfortunately, the lead would not last long as Seward would score two in the seventh to retake the lead 4-3 and would win by the same score. Game two started similarly for the Conqs as they would score just one run through the first five innings. Already down 2-0 going into the third, Hector Carrillo would cut the deficit by knocking in Blake Rast. The Conqs would not score again until the sixth inning when Cameron Fritz hit a two-run home run giving the Conqs a 3-2 lead.  Going into the eighth down 4-3, the Conquistadors would tie the game on a double by Garrett McGowan to help extend the game into extra innings where Seward would score two in the tenth to get the victory. 
 
On Saturday the Conqs would not fare any better as they were ten ruled in the first game, falling 15-5 and lost game two by a score of 10-7. Neither team would score until the bottom of the third when Seward would score five runs. The Conqs would score one on a single by Fritz. The Saints would score seven more runs in the fourth to take a 12-1 lead. The Conqs would do their best to fight back scoring four in the fifth on singles by Drake Angeron, Spencer Marcus, and Jackon Hogg. Seward would end the game in the bottom half, however, by adding three more runs. In game two, Dodge City was able to start a bit quicker as Marcus hit a double and scored a run on a ground out. Seward would tie it, scoring a run in each of the second and third innings. The Conquistadors bats would help out in the fifth and sixth innings, scoring three runs on singles by Trey Vazquez and Drake Angeron, and a double by Hogg. The Saints would cut the Conq lead to 5-4 with a two-run homer in the sixth.  DC3 would expand the lead on singles by Fritz and Rast to take a 7-4 lead into the bottom of the seventh. Unfortunately, the bullpen would fall apart in the seventh allowing six runs, and that is all Seward would need as they won 10-7.
