(Dodge City, KS) -- The Dodge City Community College Baseball team carried over some of its momentum from winning two against Cloud into the Tabor doubleheader and rolled, winning game one 11-0 and game two 12-1, both in five innings.
In the first game, the bats did not start hot immediately, however, they would get going. They scored an unearned run in the second inning, before scoring three runs in the third. The first was unearned, then
Jackson Hogg homered to score the second, and the third came on a
Blake Rast double.
Logan Murany was responsible for the lone run in the fourth, hitting a solo shot. In the fifth, the Conqs would score six unearned runs. In this game the Conqs had four bullpen pitchers combine for the shutout.
Hayden Wilcox,
Dylan Navarrette,
Noah Webb, and
Conner Kessler all pitched at least an inning, combined to give up four hits, and struck out five.
The bats started earlier in game two, scoring three runs right away in the first. All three runs were scored on a home run by
Hector Carrillo. In the second, it would continue. First Kessler singled to score a run then Carrillo walked up to the plate with the bases loaded. He, again went deep, this time clearing the bases, giving Dodge City an 8-1 lead. Carrillo would continue his big game adding another run on a base hit in the third and would score in the next at-bat on a single by
Cameron Fritz. Before it was over, the Conquistadors would add two more in the fifth on a base hit by Kessler and a sacrifice fly by Carrillo.
With the wins the Conqs move to 24-22 overall on the year.
