(Dodge City, KS) -- The Dodge City Community College Baseball team did not play well in game one, losing 13-3 in five innings, but were able to bounce back to roll to an 11-0 victory in game two.
The first game did not start out as poorly as it ended for the Conquistadors, as they scored two runs in the first inning.
Cameron Fritz and
Ryan Dos Santos singled to score the runs. Otero scored four in the first two to take the 4-2 lead.
Blake Rast would score in the fourth to cut the lead to 4-3. It would all go downhill from there as Otero would score two in the fourth and seven in the fifth to end it 13-3.
Game two would go much better for Dodge City. They got out to a 2-0 lead, scoring one unearned run in the second, and scoring one off a
Hector Carrillo base hit in the third. The Conqs would continue the run scoring, adding three more in the fourth. Trey Vazquez knocked in the first run with a base hit, while the other two scored on a throwing error, and a wild pitch. In the fifth, the Conquistadors would score another three runs on a two-RBI single from
Drake Angeron, and a single by
Garrett McGowan. In the seventh, Dodge City would add three more on
Garrett McGowan's eleventh home run of the season and that would seal the 11-0 victory.
