(Canyon, TX.) -- The Dodge City Community College Baseball team started swinging the bats well on Friday and never slowed down. In the first game of the Weekend, they defeated Eastern New Mexico University JV 13-5. It continued on Saturday with an 18-3 victory. The bats would stay hot throughout the weekend with 6-1, and 17-7 victories on Sunday.
In the first game against Eastern New Mexico JV, the runs were scored early and often by the Conqs. By the time, Eastern New Mexico came up to bat in the bottom of the 3
rd inning they were already down 5-0. In the first inning,
Drake Angeron would score on an error, in the 2
nd Ryan Santos would score. The third inning would see the Conquistadors score three runs.

th on a triple by
Spencer Marcus. Santos scored on a sacrifice in the 5

rd, 4
th, and 5

Â
In the series opener against Luna Community College, the Conq bats were on fire. They started with four runs in the first inning and did not slow down from that point on as they rolled to an 18-3 victory in 7 innings.
Jackson Hogg went 3-4 with six RBI's in the game.
Garrett McGowan was also a strong performer as he had four RBI's on his three doubles.
Â
In the first game of the Sunday doubleheader, for the first and only time of the weekend, Dodge City would have to rely a bit on their pitching staff as they came out with a 6-1 win. There were just two runs scored in the first four innings, both by Dodge City. An RBI single from
Conner Kessler in the 2
nd and a base hit by Angeron would be the source of the 2-0 Dodge City lead going into the 5
th inning. The 5
th would see Dodge City add two more runs on a balk and two wild pitches by Luna CC Pitcher Kyler Duggins.
Jonny McIntyre threw very well for the Conqs, allowing 4 hits, walking 3 and striking out 4 in 5 scoreless innings to get the win.
Â
The second game of the doubleheader and last game of the weekend was another offensive explosion for Dodge City Community College. Despite getting their worst pitching performance of the weekend, they would roll to a 17-7 victory in 7 innings over Luna CC to cap a 4-0 weekend. Angeron pitched in four RBI's and Hogg had three. Marcus also hit a home run to contribute to the victory.
Jackson Hogg had a monster weekend, going 9-18 with 12 RBI's.
Drake Angeron and
Garrett McGowan each knocked in seven RBI's.
Dodge City Community College plays a doubleheader Monday in Gruver Texas against Dakota College at Babineau, and Oklahoma Panhandle State University JV.
There are no stats on Dakota College as they are heading into their first game of the season. Last year they went 28-14 and were a strong offensive team. They bring back just 4 players from last year's team.
Oklahoma Panhandle JV also has no information but their varsity team finished under .500 last year, is currently 8-7, and on a two-game winning streak.
