Box Score 2 LAMAR, Colo. - Following a quick three-set win over Allen County on Tuesday, the Dodge City volleyball team traveled to Lamar Community College on Friday for the first day of the Quiznos Invitational. In game one, the Conqs fell to Otero Community College in three sets, by scores of, 13-25, 22-25 and 15-25. The Conqs then dropped game two to Trinidad in five sets, 25-22, 21-25, 25-19, 22-25 and 11-15
"Against Otero, our serve receive struggled and we didn't give ourselves an opportunity to put a ball away," head coach 
Kamri Nehls said. "Trinidad was different, our stats showed we were in control and we were putting the ball down. But we got complacent and had too many unforced errors. We're going to refocus and make some adjustments tomorrow."
Against Otero, 
Rachel Slattery led the way with 10 kills, while also collecting three solo blocks. 
Raquel Valdez also added four kills and assisted on five blocks. Gabby Valdez was able to accumulate seven digs, and also two service aces, while Jedda Alcee was able to add 10 assists in the match.
Dodge City was able to win the two of the first three sets against Trinidad, but the Trojans were able to win both the fourth and fifth set to take a 3-2 victory.
Slattery led the team again with 13 kills and four solo blocks, while 
Raquel Valdez was able to add nine kills and three solo blocks. Gabby Valdez had 27 assists and 15 digs, with 
Alex Stecklein adding 25 digs.
The Conqs are now 1-2 on the season and will be in action again tomorrow, taking on Hesston College at 1 p.m. mountain time and Lamar Community College at 6 p.m. mountain time.
