Box Score HESSTON, Kan. - A back and forth game throughout was spoiled for the Dodge City Community College women's soccer team as Hesston College would score in the final two minutes to take a 4-3 two overtime game in Hesston on Saturday, October 8th.
DC3 is now 6-6 on the year and saw a three-game winning streak snapped while the Larks improved to 11-2 on the year.
Hesston would get the scoring started in the ninth minute before the Conquistadors would respond with a goal of their own by
Cynthia Rodela off a corner kick to tie the game at one. The tie would be short-lived as the Larks would score again in the 29th minute. Not to be outdone, DC3's
Dominique Arzaga would find the back of the net in the 34th minute to knot the game at two heading into intermission.
Right out of the gates in the second half, Dodge City would take their first lead of the game on an own goal and hold the lead for most of the game before iho Okuda would tie the game with just five minutes remaining. Neither team could find a significant advantage in the first overtime period and most of the second OT session before Okuda would send a cross from right of the box in towards net that would curl in to become the game-winner.
The Conquistadors outshot the Larks 14-12 as each team was awarded three corner kicks.
Dodge City will have a week off before squaring off with Garden City at home on Saturday, October 15th at 2 p.m.
