Box Score CONCORDIA, Kan. - With the No. 5 seed on the line in next week's NJCAA Region VI Tournament, a hot-hitting Cloud County volleyball team was too much to overcome for the Dodge City Community College volleyball team in a 3-0 loss (20-25, 20-25, 18-25) in the regular-season finale on Thursday, Oct. 27.
DC3 is now 21-15 heading into next week's tournament while the Thunderbirds improve to 13-19.
"We overlooked tonight's game and it hurt us defensively" said head coach
Kamri Nehls in a postgame interview. "Being off defensively forced us to not be able to terminate a ball on offense and cause more issues."
Tenille Tholen led the team in digs with 11 and had one service ace while
Raquel Valdez had seven kills and three solo blocks.
Briana Brown had 11 assists.
Seeding for next week's NJCAA Region VI tournament will be decided following the outcome of the last regular-season matches. DC3 will either be the No. 6 or No. 7 seed and will play at either Hutchinson, Seward, or Colby Community College in the opening round.
