Box Score DODGE CITY, Kan. - Needing a win to keep their NJCAA Region VI playoff hopes alive, the Dodge City Community College women's soccer team did just that by dismantling Garden City by a score of 6-2 at Memorial Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 15th.
DC3 is now 7-6 on the season and 4-4 in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference avenging an earlier loss this season in two overtimes to the Broncbusters.
The Conquistadors would get on the board just four minutes into the game and make the score 2-0 when
Begona Rodriguez-Bravo would find the back of the net. Later in the first half, Rodriguez-Bravo netted her second goal of the game to give the Conqs a 3-0 halftime lead.
After allowing only one shot to Garden City in the first half, DC3
Rodriguez-Bravo would complete the hat trick with her third goal of the day to make the score 4-0 before the Broncbusters would score two goals in the span of two minutes to cut the lead in half. Rodriguez-Bravo wouldn't be done as she would score her fourth goal of the game and
Vanessa Lopez getting in on the action to propel the Conquistadors to a maximum goal differential that they could receive in the game.
With two games left in the season, DC3 needs to beat either Barton County or Hesston next week to clinch a Region VI playoff berth. The Conquistadors will take on Barton at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 19th.
