Box Score DODGE CITY, Kan. -- The Dodge City Community College volleyball team got going in the third set, but it wasn't enough to overcome Pratt as the Conquistadors lost 3-0 (25-14, 25-12, 25-20) Monday evening at DC3 Gymnasium.

After dropping the first two sets, DC3 (3-18, 1-6) battled close with the Beavers (11-11, 5-3) and took a 14-13 lead following a kill by Brianna Doussa.

But Pratt went on a 5-1 run to take an 18-15 advantage and the Conqs wouldn't get closer than two the rest of the set.

Coming off its first conference victory on Thursday, DC3 coach Ashley Nehls was hoping her team would show more energy for Monday's match.

"We didn't play with any confidence," Nehls said. "Coming into this match after a win, they should have some confidence. But we just beat ourselves out there."

Mariah Watkins led the Conqs with six kills while Hailee Hoskinson had four kills and two block assists. Katie Garcia led DC3 with 16 digs while Sada Smith had 15 and Briana Brown had a team-high eight assists.

DC3 travels to play Cloud County on Wednesday.
